This year I had easily the best Valentines day i’ve ever had. The weekend started on Friday when we exchanged presents early. She got me a totally unexpected and totally awesome digital camera which i’ve been wanting for a long time, i got her a jersey of her other boyfriend Drew Doughty of the LA Kings which was fitting since we were going to the Kings game against the Avalanche the next night. After that we were off to have a nice sushi dinner with our good friends Matt & Amy and then hit up a local dive bar Jerseys, a very nice mellow night that was a perfect start to the weekend.
The next morning i went on a nice 26 mile ride from the South Bay to Venice with my old friend Gabe who i hadn’t seen in a while and was followed by a trip to my doggies favorite dog park. Carrie & I had got a room at the Marriott in downtown L.A. for the night and checked in before the Kings game, got ready and then were on our way to watch the Kings beat the Avalanche 3-0. We had awesome seats and sat next to a very funny old couple, not to mention Carrie was very excited to sport her Valentines gift. Ahe was going to make a sign that said “Doughty, be my Valentine” but didn’t have time, we definitely would have been on t.v.
After the game we headed to Bar 107 which is a old favorite of mine and a new favorite of Carries, we had a few Jack N Diets, watched some womans Olympic hockey and took some photobooth pictures. As we were leaving i bought a obligatory downtown bacon wrapped hot dog, which i was able to get Carrie to try (and she loved it!), then we cabbed it the 5 blocks back to our hotel room.
Sunday started by sleeping in and not really having much of a plan which was then decided that we would use our recently purchased Knotts Berry Farm season passes to go hang out with her sister and nieces. Which was very fun times :)
All in all a pretty mellow weekend, but i loved every minute of it and it was easily the best Valentines i’ve had so far. Below are some pics that were taken with my awesome new camera <3
